Winter earthworks application
A consent decision may have a winter works restriction, which will trigger the consent holder or any parties working on behalf of the consent holder (engineers, contractors, consultants etc.) to submit a winter works application.
Winter works applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks before the end of the earthworks season.
The winter season is more susceptible to increased volumes of rainfall, putting a much larger risk on sites, and their erosion and sediment controls. For these reasons, winter works require additional planning and management.

Winter works application form
This online form provides a portal for submitting an application to undertake earthworks during the winter period, to the Northland Regional Council (NRC). Please note that an NRC monitoring officer may contact you to discuss your application/or to inspect the works being undertaken.
